Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penggunaan kata ganti dalam "The Story of an Hour" karya Kate Chopin. Cerita pendek karya Kate Chopin ini dianalisis melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan fokus pada kata ganti yang digunakan dalam teks. Penelitian ini terinspirasi oleh penggunaan kata ganti yang sering dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Menguasai penyusunan kalimat dasar menggunakan kata ganti merupakan aset besar dalam memperluas kosakata seseorang dan memotivasi orang lain untuk mencapai kefasihan berbahasa Inggris. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis "The Story of an Hour" karya Kate Chopin berdasarkan persentase penggunaan kata ganti subjek. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa kata ganti subjek "dia" digunakan 73,91% lebih sering dibandingkan kata ganti lainnya.
