Abstract

Anak yang menjadi korban childhood maltreatment di Indonesia terus mengalami peningkatan. Childhood maltreatment dapat berupa kekerasan fisik, kekerasan emosional, kekerasan seksual, penelantaran fisik dan penelantaran emosional. Kebohongan pertama anak yang mengalami maltreatment bertujuan untuk menghindari hukuman (Stouthamer-Loeber, 1986). Kebohongan yang berhasil membuat anak terhindar dari human membuat anak menjadikan kebohongan sebagai kebiasaan, dan kebiasaan yang terus dilakukan berkembang menjadi kepribadian(Feist et al., 2018). Salah satu ciri utama machiavellianisme adalah menipu atau berbohong (Todd & Shackelford, 2020). Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat ada atau tidaknya hubungan childhood maltreatment dengan machiavellianisme pada dewasa muda. Instrumen alat ukur yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Childhood Trauma Questionnaire Short Form (CTQ-SF) untuk mengukur tingkat pengalaman childhood maltreatment partisipan dan MACH-IV untuk mengukur tingkat machiavellianisme partisipan. Melalui analisa data, didapatkan hasil yang menyatakan adanya hubungan positif (r = 0.77) yang signifikan antara childhood maltreatment dengan machiavellianisme pada dewasa muda.
