Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas peran Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan dalam merencanakan pendapatan asli Kota Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data, yaitu wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa sumber Pendapatan Daerah Asli Kota Medan berasal dari pajak bumi dan bangunan. Selain itu, ada faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam perencanaan Pendapatan Asli Daerah Kota Medan. Peran Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan dalam perencanaan Pendapatan Asli Daerah Kota Medan adalah memberikan rekomendasi laporan yang harus akurat dan up-to-date serta program kerja yang baik dalam rangka menciptakan visi dan misi Yang Diharapkan Kota Medan.
