Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna tsu’ban, jann dan Hayyah dalam al-Qur’an, dan mengetahui rahasia dibalik perbedaan redaksi tsu’ban, jann dan Hayyah dalam kisah Nabi Musa as. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research) yaitu penelitian yang datanya diambil dari bentuk tulisan-tulisan atau memanfaatkan sumber perpustakaan. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan makna  tsu’ban, hayyah dan Jann sebagai berikut : istilah حية adalah nama umum untuk semua jenis ular, baik jantan maupun betina, kecil maupun besar, sedangkan ثعبان adalah ular besar dan جان adalah ular kecil.
