Metode Make-A Match: Bagaimana Implementasinya dalam Meningkatkan Keterampilan Berbicara Siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan?

Metode pembelajaran bahasa merupakan bagian penting dalam kegiatan belajar-mengajar bahasa disetiap satuan pendidikan, tetapi realitasnya penerapan metode belajar bahasa masih terbatas dilakukan di sekolah—termasuk di SMK 1 Liliriaja Kabupaten Soppeng, Indonesia dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia karena keterbatasan pengetahuan yang dimiliki oleh guru bahasa. Atas dasar itu, penelitian ini dirancang dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa dalam berbicara melalui metode make-a match. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan jenis penelitian classroom action reseach. 32 siswa kelas X yang bersekolah di SMK 1 Liliriaja Kabupaten Soppeng terlibat dalam penelitian ini. Tes dan lembar observasi itu dimanfaatkan untuk mendaptkan data berupa hasil belajar siswa dalam keterampilan berbicara dan data berupa kegiatan siswa selama proses pembelajaran. Data yang sudah dikumpulkan itu dianalisis baik secara kuantitatif maupun kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata keterampilan berbicara pada siklus pertama yaitu 57,63 dan termasuk berkategori tinggi, sedangkan nilai rata-rata keterampilan berbicara pada siklus kedua 79,80 dan dikategorisasi ke dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Temuan ini memperlihatkan bahwa implementasi metode make-a match berkontribusi penting terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa.
