Hubungan antara Kecerdasan Emosional dan Grit pada Atlet Pelajar di Sekolah Khusus Olahragawan Jawa Timur

Peran ganda atlet pelajar berpotensi membuat mereka stres dalam menyeimbangkan komitmen untuk menyesuaikan tuntutan pelatihan dan kompetisi dengan persyaratan dalam sistem akademik dan melanjutkan pendidikannya. Atlet pelajar membutuhkan kemampuan untuk dapat mempertahankan minat dan tujuan awal menempuh pendidikan di sekolah serta mengatasi tantangan akademik olahraga dan non- olahraga sehingga dapat menjaga dan memaksimalkan performanya untuk berprestasi serta mencapai tujuannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara kecerdasan emosional dan grit pada atlet pelajar di Sekolah Khusus Olahragawan Jawa Timur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan analisis korelasi Pearson. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah147 atlet pelajar di Sekolah Khusus Olahragawan Jawa Timur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan skala kecerdasan emosional berdasarkan aspek dari Goleman (1995/2016) dan skala grit berdasarkan aspek dari Duckworth (2016). Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan software SPSS 26.0. Uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi kurang dari 0,05 dan koefisian korelasi dari kedua variabel yaitu 0,676, sehingga terdapat hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan grit pada atlet pelajar di Sekolah Khusus Olahragawan Jawa Timur. Hubungan dari kedua variabel adalah signifikan dan positif. Hal ini menandakan semakin tingginya kecerdasan emosional atlet pelajar, maka semakin tinggi pula grit-nya. Kecerdasan emosional dan grit dapat dipelajari dan diajarkan, yang berarti bahwa individu dapat dididik untuk membantu mereka meningkatkan kinerja akademik dan non-akademiknya.
