Adsorpsi Ion Cu(II) Menggunakan Selulosa dari Kulit Durian (Durio zibethinus) dengan Metode Batch

Limbah logam berat yang dapat menjadi sumber pencemaran lingkungan salah satunya logam Cu(II) dimana dapat dikurangi dengan metode adsorpsi menggunakan selulosa dari kulit durian. Kulit durian masih kurang dimanfaatkan sehingga menumpuk dan menjadi sumber penyakin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kapasitas penyerapan dari selulosa kulit durian dan kondisi optimum dari penyerapan logam Cu(II) dengan metode batch serta variasi pH, konsetrasi, dan waktu kontak. Kulit buah durian dengan kandungan selulosa (50- 60%), lignin (5%) dan pati (5%). Hasil dari penelitian didapatkan kondisi optimum penyerapan ion logam Cu(II) pada kondisi pH 5, konsentrasi 400 ppm, dan waktu kontak 90 menit adalah 5,5875 mg/g. Karakterisasi FTIR dilakukan pada selulosa standar, selulosa sebelum pengontakan dan selulosa setelah pengontakan. Isoterm cenderung mengikuti persamaan isoterm freundlich dengan nilai koefisien determinan (R) sebesar 0,9345. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa selulosa kulit durian menyerap ion logam Cu(II) terjadi penyerapan secara fisisorpsi, adsorpsi ini terjadi pada sistem heterogen artinya membentuk lapisan multilayer.
