Mastery of concepts in biology material is needed during learning to stimulate students to be active in the learning process so that student learning outcomes increase. The problems found in SMAN 6 Padang are that teachers still use conventional learning models with the lecture method, so the learning process has not run optimally, the cognitive aspects of students are low, and students are still less active and rarely ask questions during discussions. Efforts that can be made to overcome these problems is to apply the 7E Learning Cycle Learning Model. The Learning Cycle 7E learning model can facilitate students to be active in the learning process and train students' abilities to solve problems in biology learning. This type of research is quasi-experimental research (Quasi Experimental Research). The research design is the Control Group Posttest Design. The experimental class was treated with the Learning cycle 7E learning model, while the control class was treated with the conventional learning model (direct learning). The instrument of this research was posttest questions in the form of multiple choices totaling 20 questions with 5 objective answer choices. Data analysis used independent sample t-test. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the Learning Cycle 7E learning model could affect the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 6 Padang on psychotropic material.
