The Effect of Watching Video Tutorials on Students Procedural Text Writing Skill at Grade VIII MTsS Nurul Ikhwan Tanjung Morawa Academic Year 2022-2023

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan media video tutorial pada teks prosedur terhadap peningkatan keterampilan menulis siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dan dilaksanakan dengan desain eksperimen dengan dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang berjumlah 30 siswa dan kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Dalam teknik pengumpulan data, peneliti melakukan pre-test, treatment dan post-test dengan memberikan tes uraian yang terdiri dari 3 soal jenis essay. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan media video tutorial pada teks prosedur. Hal ini terlihat dari perbedaan rata-rata nilai pretest dan posttest siswa kelas eksperimen yang meningkat dari 52,8 menjadi 82. Rata-rata nilai pretest pada kelas kontrol adalah 56 sedangkan rata-rata posttest pada kelas kontrol adalah 62. Artinya media video tutorial dalam teks prosedur dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa.
