Potensi Ketapang (Terminalia catappa L.) sebagai Tanaman Obat

Tanaman obat memiliki senyawa-senyawa yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan. Salah satu tumbuhan yang mengandung antioksidan adalah ketapang (Terminalia catappa L.). Tumbuhan ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai tanaman obat karena mengandung senyawa flavonoid, alkaloid, tanin, triterpenoid atau steroid, resin, dan saponin, serta tergolong multifungsi dalam pemanfaatannya karena dapat mengobati berbagai penyakit, seperti kardiovaskuler, kulit, liver, pernafasan, perut, gonorhea dan insomnia. Studi ini bertujuan memberikan informasi mengenai kandungan yang ada di dalam tanaman ketapang dan pemanfaatkan ketapang sebagai tanaman obat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penulisan artikel ini adalah menggunakan literature review.
