Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Crossword Puzzle terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa kelas VIII SMPN 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Quasi experimental dengan rancangan penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua kelas sampel yaitu kelas VIII. 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII. 4 sebagai kelas kontrol yang masing-masing kelas terdiri dari 34 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar yang diberikan saat pretest dan posttest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Crossword Puzzle dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dilihat dari tingginya hasil belajar setelah diberikan treatment (perlakuan). Berdasarkan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji t atau Independent sample t test diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,005 > 0,05 yang menandakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan Crossword Puzzle dengan kelas kontrol yang hanya menggunakan model konvensional.
