Abstract

Pneumonia adalah istilah yang mencakup setiap radang paru dimana alveloli terisi dengan cairan dan sel darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan jumlah leukosit dan RDW terhadap tingkat keparahan pneumonia pada balita. Penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif analitik, dengan pendekatan cross-sectional, menggunakan 66 sampel data rekam medis serta hasil pemeriksaan laboratorium dari RS PKU Muhammdiyah Kota Yogyakrta tahun 2023. Hasil uji chi-square didapatkan 0,002 untuk jumlah leukosit serta 0,001 untuk nilai red-cell distribution width menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna, dan untuk uji phi didapatkan 0,416 untuk jumlah leukosit serta 0,456 untuk nilai red-cell distribution width menunjukan terdapat korelasi yang cukup kuat. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan jumlah leukosit dan peningkatan nilai RDW terhadap tingkat keparahan pneumonia pada balita yang dirawat di RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta tahun 2023.
