Pengaruh Suhu pada Proses Tranesterifikasi terhadap Kualitas Biodiesel dari Minyak Jelantah

Peneltian ini berfokus pada pengaruh suhu tranesterifikasi terhadap karakteristik biodiesel yang dihasilkan dari minyak jelantah.Sebelum dilakukan transeterifikasi minyak jelantah dikarakterisasi terlebih dahulu seperti pengujian bilangan asam lemak bebas, titik nyala (flash point), angka penyabunan dan densitas terhadap sampel minyak jelantah. Hasil pengujian sampel minyak jelantah dipatkakan nilai flash point 271 °C , densitas 0.926 gr/ml, angka asam 5.3 mgKOH/Minyak dan angka penyabunan 6.5 mgKOH/g .Dalam proses transesterifikasi menggunakan NaOH sebanyak 2,5 gr dan 100 ml metanol. Suhu transesterifikasi divariasikan 45, 50, 55, 60 dan 65 0C. Karakteristik yang diuji yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah asam lemak bebas, titik nyala (flash point), angka penyabunan dan densitas. Nilai terbaik yang dihasilkan yaitu pada suhu 65°C dengan nilai flash point 132 °C , densitas 0,875 gr/ml, angka asam 1,4 mgKOH/Minyak dan angka penyabunan 5,1 mgKOH/g.
