Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika terhadap kemampuan literasi matematika siswa kelas VIII di MTs Al-Mustaqim. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematika siswa Indonesia berdasarkan PISA 2022 dan hasil observasi awal di MTs Al-Mustaqim yang menunjukkan pembelajaran masih konvensional dan kurang terkait dengan konteks budaya lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih secara purposive sampling, yaitu kelas VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII A sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan literasi matematika (pre-test dan post-test) dan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji-t independen, dan uji efektivitas (Cohen's d) dengan program Jamovi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan (p = 0,040 < 0,05) pada kemampuan literasi matematika antara kedua kelompok. Rata-rata skor posttest kelas eksperimen (85) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (76,17). Tingkat efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika tergolong dalam kategori efek sedang menuju besar (medium to large effect) dengan nilai Cohen’s d = 0,734.
