Sintesis Plastik Biodegradable dari Pati Kulit Singkong dan Kitosan Kulit Larva Black Soldier Fly dengan Penambahan Polyethylene glycol sebagai Plasticizer

Plastik biodegradable telah menjadi sangat menarik bagi banyak peneliti bahan sebagai pengganti plastik berbasis minyak bumi konvensional karena plastik biodegradable merupakan plastik biopolimer yang dapat terdegradasi oleh mikroorganisme. Pada proses pembuatan plastik biodegradable diperlukan adanya bahan tambahan yaitu plasticizer dan kitosan sehingga diperoleh plastik biodegradable berbasis pati kulit singkong yang fleksibel dan elastis. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang pemanfaatan pati kulit singkong dan kitosan kulit larva Black Soldier Fly (BSF) dengan penambahan Polyethylene glycol (PEG) sebagai plasticizer dalam pembuatan plastik biodegradable. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui pengaruh penambahan kitosan BSF dengan PEG pada proses pembuatan plastik biodegradable berbasis pati kulit singkong. Plastik biodegradable dibuat dengan metode melt intercalation. Pati dan kitosan hasil ekstraksi dianalisis menggunakan FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy). Berdasarkan penelitian diperoleh hasil terbaik pada konsentrasi kitosan 1,75% dengan hasil plastik paling fleksibel.
