Peran Pendidikan dalam Penguatan Kriminologi Hukum (Strategi Pencegahan dan Rehabilitasi Tindak Pidana)

Pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam penguatan kriminologi hukum, terutama dalam strategi pencegahan dan rehabilitasi tindak pidana. Pendidikan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang konsekuensi hukum dari tindakan kriminal dan membantu mengurangi tingkat kejahatan melalui peningkatan keterampilan dan pengetahuan. Penelitian ini mencoba menjawan (1) Bagaimana peran pendidikan dalam mencegah dan mengurangi tindak kejahatan serta residivisme dan mengapa banyak negara belum mampu mengintegrasikan pendidikan sebagai strategi utama dalam pencegahan dan rehabilitasi tindak pidana? dan (2) Apa saja strategi dan program pendidikan yang efektif untuk mendukung pencegahan dan rehabilitasi tindak pidana?. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yuridis normatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pendidikan memiliki potensi besar untuk mencegah perilaku kriminal dan merehabilitasi residivis. Terdapat beberapa hambatan harus diatasi, termasuk kesempatan dan kualitas pendidikan yang tidak setara, kurikulum yang gagal mencakup materi penting, dan diskriminasi yang meluas terhadap mereka yang memiliki catatan kriminal. Adanya program-program pendidikan yang efektif, diharapkan dapat membangun masyarakat yang lebih sadar akan hukum, bertanggung jawab, dan kontributif pada masyarakat, sehingga dapat meminimalkan terjadinya tindak pidana dan membangun masyarakat yang lebih damai dan harmonis.
