Hubungan Social Comparison dengan Self-Esteem pada Pengguna Instagram

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara social comparison dengan self-esteem pada dewasa awal pengguna Instagram. Subjek pada peneitian ini berjumlah 152 orang dawasa awal laki-laki (23%) dan perempuan (77%) dengan rentang usia 18-35 tahun. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah nonprobability sampling dengan cara insidental sampling dengan 152 orang dewasa awal pengguna Instagram di daerah Bukittinggi. Alat ukur penelitian yang digunakan ialah Skala Social Comparison, dan Skala Self-Esteem. Data pada penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan analisis produk momen pearson dan analisis regresi. Berdasarkan analisis produk momen pearson, ditemukan nilai r= -0,369 dan nilai P= 0,00 (p<0,05) dan hasil regresi dengan nilai R Square(r²) = 0,136/ 13,6%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara social comparison dengan self-esteem pada pengguna Instagram di daerah Bukittinggi dan social comparison berkontribusi sebesar 13,6% terhadap self-esteem individu.
